I was shocked and saddened this morning to read about the death of author Octavia Butler on Black Voices.com. What a great loss.

There are many of us crushed by this. Indeed, Gary Phillips and I were in the process of approaching Ms. Butler with an invitation to join Gar Anthony Williams, Tananarive Due, Steve Barnes, Eric Dickey and a many more authors in our project The Darker Mask, a combination of prose and graphic novel elements showcasing stories of suspense and heroes.
Sounds like an amazing project, Christopher. Hey, when are we going to get another Angela Bivens novel?
